For an example question : I have a habit of talking about other behind their backs. At the same time it's like it makes me feel important. But it's also costing me friends. What can i do now?
Answer : When Zacchaues met Jesus he had a pretty lousy track record as a friend. He had made himself rich by taking from others what didn't belong to him. Gossip works the same way; it robs others of their reputation and always comes back around to hurt us in the end.
An afternoon with Jesus really turned things around for Zacchaues. He had met a true friend, one who showed him kindness when what he deserved was rejection.
Anyway, what did Zacchaues did is exactly what you can do too!!!
3 easy steps:
ADMIT
Admit your mistake. Take responsibility for what you've done that has hurt others.
CHANGE
Determine to treat others the way you want to be treated. Next time you're tempted to gossip, stop and think, "How would i feel if someone said this about me? Would i say this if the person was present to hear me?"
TAKE ACTION
Like Zacchaeus, take action to correct the damage created by your choices. Tell the person what you did and ask for their forgiveness. Whether they accept your apology or not (and they probably will), work to rebuilt their trust by saying only good things about them "behind their back."
So what are you waiting for??
ADMIT. CHANGE. TAKE ACTION!!
P/s: For those who can't understand this passage because it is in english. kindly be patient and sorry. i will actually post this kind of Q&A when I'm free but for sure i would need someone to guide or help me to translate it into chinese. so that there will be two languages in every Q&A post. =) emmanuel
